Along with Cllr Abdul Bostani and Cllr Franny Scally I visited the Maryhill Hub where Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland run a community Health Defence programme for the local community.

They can carry out health checks and put in place a tailored approach to assisting participants follow a healthy lifestyle. Importantly it involves exercise classes in the main hall at the Maryhill Hub as well as organised walks. It allows local residents to meet up and socialise, and be proactive in looking after their health at the same time.

This can have a positive impact in warding off negative health experiences such as stroke. I would encourage local residents to check it out and go along.
