Dear community councillor,
I have today written to all community councils wholly or partly within Maryhill and Springburn constituency. Community councillors and the well-connected local networks they are part of in the communities I represent are of great value; particularly during the current Covid-19 crisis. I therefore wanted to thank our community councillors for all they are doing to support our communities during the ongoing lockdown restrictions.
Despite these unprecedented times, I know that many of you will be volunteering with various organisations within the community. Whether you are volunteering by helping to supply food parcels and medication to the most vulnerable; checking up on family, friends and neighbours or offering emotional support to those who are struggling - I am hugely grateful.
Community Councillors are well placed to see first-hand many of challenges people locally are facing. I wanted to remind you that my constituency office and staff team are still active and offering support. Although I have had to close my physical office due to the Covid-19 virus, myself and my staff are working remotely and will still be picking up calls and emails.
Key Information Regarding Food Need & Emotional / Practical Support
I am also updating my website, www.bob-doris.scot, with information that I receive on a daily basis as an MSP.
There is key information for those in food need or who need to speak to someone for additional support and advice (both emotional and practical support).

Lockdown Exit Strategy
In addition to this I would like to draw to the attention of community councillors, the Scottish Government’s paper on how we many ultimately ease the restrictions. You can find this at https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-framework-decision-making-further-information/ I would encourage you to read this, and as representatives of your community feed any thoughts into the government directly.
You can submit feedback and suggestions at https://www.ideas.gov.scot/covid-19-a-framework-for-decision-making
If there is anything I can assist with, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please feel free to share the information within this letter widely.
Best wishes and stay safe.
